Approach
The world needs engineers now more than ever.
Humanity is facing many existential challenges, from climate change to economic, racial and gender inequality. And engineering is creative problem-solving at its best—it’s all about identifying needs and iterating improvements to everyday life. NI’s Corporate Impact approach is to focus on the issues we can most greatly affect through our unique role as test and measurement engineering leaders.
Engineering Hope: Our 2030 Corporate Impact Strategy
Our 2030 Corporate Impact Strategy outlines how we will put our people, partners, and products to work to benefit society and our planet. It sets forth our vision of a more equitable, sustainable world, and sets 15 ambitious goals for 2030—organized around three impact pillars—to give us a concrete framework for bringing that vision to life. This strategy challenges us to think big as we work together to develop breakthrough solutions for a better world.

Our Global Impact Network
No individual or entity can solve the world's problems alone, but we must all do our part. Corporate Impact at NI is a team effort. We have a Corporate Impact Council and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council composed of executive leadership team members. These councils and our Corporate Impact and DEIB teams guide grassroots efforts by our employees. And our impact is amplified by customers, suppliers, and partners across the globe.

Our Products
Through our recent acquisitions of Kratzer, Heinzinger EV Systems and NH Research, we’ve expanded NI’s portfolio of EV battery test and drive test solutions that help automakers rapidly innovate safe, sustainable EVs. In 2022, we received the Battery Innovation Center’s Charged for Innovation Award.
Our Company
We continued to remodel NI’s Austin, Texas, headquarters in 2022 to reflect our new hybrid work model. The new space is designed to LEED and WELL standards, with sustainable materials, efficient fixtures, composting and recycling. We repurposed, recycled, or donated old materials when possible.
Our People
NI Hungary employee Regina Novaczky wanted to help people displaced by the Russia-Ukraine war. She created NI Restart, a program that accelerates our company’s hiring process for Ukranian refugees and provides customized benefits and housing support.
Our Partners
We connected our longtime partner, the Children’s Museum of Costa Rica, with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture to add a new exhibit to the museum’s NI-sponsored STEM Room. It features a harvesting robot NIers created to teach kids about STEM and sustainable agriculture.
